Well after a lot of time in R&D i am proud to announce that i will be releasing my batteries to the public :P . they are at about 13 ounces....yes 13 ounces compared to the chunck of lead that you have now thats like 8 lbs. i have included some RC technology that seems like everyone has been wanting, its called a ballancing connector. it hooks up to a battery charger that charges each cell compared to the whole battery.

anyway here is the first batch i put together
Image

this is whats included (the size difference is HUGE, these are ~ 4"X3"x1"... CRAZY SMALL)

Updates please my good man!!!!

So just to clarify...a "balanced" connector will result in a longer battery life?

Regards

J

well thats not exactly true, being these batteries are never run down to low voltage, there isnt a real need to take the battery off and use a ballancing charger to get them to charge equally. we start our bikes with these things and use very little of the energy that then is quickly made back with the stator. anway ballancing would help iwth the life if you took it off after a few weeks, decharged it and then rebalanced it. however i am hoping that with out this proceedure the bats will last longer than stock. we will see what long term testing shows. the circuit above was actually a device that would turn the battery off before it got down to critical voltage, and then you would have to reset it before you could start the bike. its basiclly an insurance plan against low voltage(ie the circuits name "voltage cutoff device").

yeah i have a few 4 cells and a 8 cell available, however i have found that i doubt that i will ever finish the device i was working on as i dont think that it is financialy plausable. the cost in each unit would almost double it :( adn thats just material costs. so ill stick to the standard Quick Disconnect battteries for the time being, then research other possible methods

What is the cranking amps on these? I ask because I am currently building a 1393cc motor, but I am planning on a decently street-able 10.25:1 compression ratio. Also this is an OLD (1985) Suzuki, and I wonder if there might be stability issues in charging.
Somewhere I read an extensive write up on the batteries you make, but I can't seem to find it again. Any ideas where it is on the net?

let me see if this is what your looking for?
4 cell
- Pulse discharge @ 10 seconds = 120 Amps
- Continuous discharge (MAX) = 70 Amps
- Cycle Life (DoD spec) = 1,000 cycles

- Dimensions = 10.5cm (L) x 2.5cm (W) x 7cm (H)/ 4.13" (L) x 0.98" (W) x 2.75" (H)
- Weight = 337.36g / 11.9oz
- Rating = 2.3Ah

8 cell
- Pulse discharge @ 10 seconds = 240 Amps
- Continuous discharge (MAX) = 140 Amps
- Cycle Life (DoD spec) = 1,000 cycles

- Dimensions = 10.5cm (L) x 5cm (W) x 7cm (H) / 4.13" (L) x 1.96" (W) x 2.75" (H)
- Weight = 766.57g / 1.69lbs
- Rating = 4.6Ah

which you would want the 8 cell version

ohhh and i guess i should post my new packaging. this keeps the wires from moving on the battery terminals while using the quick disconnect feature.

I have a CBR600RR. It spends 50% of the time on track and 50% on the road. What option would you recommend?
